35 – Rusted From The Rain by Billy Talent

That's it. Kick a bit harder. You know you want to. Drive those steel toes into bone. Feel the crack. Hear the pain.

Just keep smiling that sickening smile. Keep feeling that adrenaline rushing through your veins. Keep ignoring the pathetic creature at your feet.

Just keep telling yourself it doesn't matter. Doesn't matter that this creature is soaked through, bruised and beaten, lying in a puddle of rain and blood. Doesn't matter that nothing deserves to be treated like this.

Keep forgetting that one day, maybe, this creature will get up and make you pay for what you're doing. She might be down, but hell will freeze before she's out.
So, I saw the awesome Billy Talent last night. I don’t have their most recent album but this song, being the single and all, keeps getting stuck in my head. And it’s amazing, so I thought I’d make it one of my 100 Songs Challenge pieces. Comments appreciated as always, people.

Well, the whole song, but the chorus in particular is good:
Go on, crush me like a flower, rusted from the rain,
Come on, strip me of my power, beat me with your chains.
And if I'm the king of cowards, you're the queen of pain,
I'm rusted from the rain, I'm rusted from the rain.

It's a great piece. Very strong, defiant and survivor-like...
I like it very very much.
