Oh jeez, long time no journal. Again. Anyways, just thought I'd share my joy that I am finally taking part in NaNoWriMo this year. Been meaning to for about 5 years and I finally got up the courage to have a go. It'll be Middle-earth fan-fiction, set mostly during the time of the War of the Ring. It'll probably end up being a bit rubbish, but I've not written on this scale for years, so I'm forgiving myself in advance for the atrocious writing. Anyway, if it ends up being something I'm evenly vaguely pleased with, I might post it on here. Yep, I will seriously post some lit for the first time in years. Oh my.

International Primate Rescue
I've just been to South Africa to volunteer at a primate sanctuary for two weeks. Photos will be incoming shortly, but for now, go have a read of my blog, yeah? http://iatsath.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/randomness-south-africa-trip.html
You could also go and check out International Primate Rescue here: http://iprescue.org/ - they're amazing folks.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Haven't posted a journal since January. My bad. Blame final year at uni, graduation and job hunting. Anyways, a comment in the music forum reminded me about the journal, finally so let's have a post.
I have graduated. YAY! Delightful 2:1 for me. On the down side, I still haven't got a job. Boo. I've actually lost count of how many applications I've sent off. Tis probably nearing 100, if not more. Slightly depressing, but I think we can at least partly blame the economic climate for that.
Moving on to more pleasing things. MUSIC! As always. More slightly depr

:bulletgreen: Let's kick off with: check out Amy Studt's debut album. It came out several years ago, but I just rediscovered it in my library and fell in love with it all over again. Yes, it's pop and yes, it's nothing special but it's lovely nonetheless.
:bulletgreen: Next up, I am developing an even deeper loathing of data analysis than I had already. Largely because my mother roped me into doing some for a woman who works with her. I should add that she didn't ask me if I wanted this job, I just got told and was expected to do it. Ugh. Ah well, at least I'm getting paid.
:bulletgreen: Onto happier things
Happy New Year
Happy new year and all that jazz. That is all. 2012 is looking to be a fun year - going to some of the Paralympics in London and might be volunteering at the Olympics if they ever get round to processing my application. Plus I graduate this coming summer. Scary. Oh, and the Queen's diamond jubilee. That should be fun.
Fun times all round.
:D
